Alex and Amanda’s beautiful wedding on April 27th 2012, at the Fraser River Lodge.

After the rain, snow, and hail that has been hitting the lower mainland for the last few months, a weekend at Tofino was perfect. We timed the weather just right, getting 3 beautiful sunny days, and 3 beautiful days for pictures. After spending such a short time there, I have already fallen in love with the scenery of Tofino. Everywhere you turn you either see the ocean, the wind blown trees, or a surf board.
A year and one day later, I got to do a second photoshoot with some good friends of mine, and their 15 month old daughter. I was shocked looking at the difference between the pictures I took of the three of them December 31, 2010 (top photo), and then at the recent pictures I took of them on January 1st, 2012. They are perfect subjects for pictures, they don’t look too posed, and can act natural in front of my camera. I plan on going out to visit them on their farm in Saskatchewan this summer, so that I can take even more photos of Baby Eliana as she continues to grow up. After all these photoshoots, and future shoots to come, I think she’ll have a good chance at a modeling career! haha.
This year I once again had the pleasure of taking pictures at the Abby Collegiate Hair Show. Compared to the photos from the show last year, I think my work has improved quite a bit. It was an excellent experience shooting this again. It’s nice to do some more work in a totally different shooting situation than i’m used to being in, and I learned quite a bit.
Well done hair designers! You made your models look great for the camera
Last week I had the pleasure of taking Headshot photos for one of my oldest childhood friends, Kaitlin. We were getting some really good photos, just shooting in the alley right by her house. Near the end of the shoot we came across the perfect location for her pictures. The background was perfect, the lighting was perfect, so within 20 minutes we had some of the best photos of the shoot. Since this was my first ‘Professional’ Headshot session, I am very pleased with the results. I look forward to doing more photo work with Kaitlin in the future.
The past few weeks have been loaded with photography work! Last week it was grad photos, then prom photos, and this week it was all about engagements. I had the pleasure of shooting two very different couples this week. My first session was with my sister and her fiance . We walked just a couple blocks from their place to the beach, which turned out to be a perfect location for them. I knew they were not into overly ‘posed’ pictures, so I worked with them in a very casual setting. With the ocean, and the city in the background I was able to pull off some great photos. Very quick, very casual, and very them.
The second couple I worked with were more willing to take some time with the pictures. We went to a small picturesque country village to do the shoot, and had fun walking around, exploring some of the new areas, and setting up some great photos.
I am overall quite pleased with how both the shoots turned out. I was able to capture both of the couples’ personalities in my photos, and present a final product that they would appreciate. I look forward to shooting their weddings soon, and more engagement photos to come!
It’s graduation time! Grade twelves from all over have smiling faces, and are ready to be the center of attention by their friends and families. This year I did my first big senior portrait session with one of my best childhood friends, sarah
While we took a few photos inside the studio, I was so glad to shoot her portraits outdoors on a perfect spring day. It was an awesome experience taking senior photos of a girl who’s not afraid to get her feet dirty–by climbing along the creek bank, running barefoot down the road, and climbing a mossy tree.
All in all, great fun! Can’t wait to take her prom photos, and other grad photos to come!
Finally after months of being too busy to post or edit many pictures I now have tons of new work to put up! Some of my attempts at nature shots will be posted from my long weekend canoeing and camping expedition, engagement photos I took for some friends, and endless miscellaneous pictures. Here is a small sampling of the photos to come…
I had a wonderful time this holiday spending time with Ethan and Christina–and their new addition: Eliana. Since they live a couple provinces over I don’t see them too often, but this time when they came I got to see their daughter
I had a lot of fun taking their first family photos–Eliana wasn’t quite sure what to think of the bright lights, and my camera infront of her, but as time went on, she became more comfortable. I am very pleased with the results, and can’t wait to take more pictures of her as she grows up!

Yesterday was quite a whirlwind! I did a photoshoot most of the day at Utopia Hair Academy–everyone had an awesome time! All of the models seemed quite relaxed and it shows in their pictures. Although I have only done a little work with fashion/hair glamour shots-I love it! Definitely wanting to do more.
